The River Studio offers a beautiful space to explore a variety of healing arts practices, including dance, yoga, and meditation. Entering the studio you experience the spaciousness of the vaulted ceiling, warmth of the heated bamboo floor, and spectacular view overlooking meditative gardens and the Kennebec River.
At The River Studio, we believe that wellness is not a destination, but rather a journey that can be enjoyed every step of the way. Our mission is to offer tools and resources that support an experience of wholeness by embracing a holistic approach that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. We celebrate and empower our community to take control of their own health and well-being.
Listening to the body, deepening awareness of the body’s wisdom, and inviting creative expression to manifest in the body is what guides my work. The classes and workshops I offer are informed by my training as a dancer at the Boston Conservatory and as a dance movement therapist at Naropa University. This perspective also informs my inclusion of community practitioners in the studio’s offerings of classes, workshops, events and rentals.
I have taught dance and creative movement to children and adults for over 30 years and still feel joyful and passionate about my art.
I am personally dedicated to mindfulness practices, including the moving meditation of Authentic Movement. Exploring the role of dance/choreography in the healing of communities in response to global issues is of particular interest.

Linda is passionate about yoga and its benefits and has become, through many years, a skilled teacher who adapts the class to the needs of the students. She completed her

Nancy has been teaching yoga for roughly 30 years, teaching all ages an alignment based yoga with an emphasis on what's best for each student's needs. Nancy brings a wealth of experience and practice to her classes and is sought after for her wisdom and instruction.
